The development team behind RPCS3, the open-source PlayStation 3 emulator, has just released version v0.0.36 Alpha, marking a new milestone in the ongoing improvement of this ambitious project. This new version, released just 10 hours ago by AniLeo, brings notable improvements in several areas.
Graphics optimizations:– Reworked Vulkan swapchain management for better stability – Improved hardware support with the use of AVX-512 for vertex shader hashing – Optimized RSX program cache memory
Interface improvements:– Added a button to show/hide hidden trophies – Implemented horizontal scrolling for the on-screen keyboard (OSK) – Improved game icons and localized titles
Technical fixes:– Fixed an issue that could cause illegal instructions on machines without AVX-512 under Linux – Fixed memory leaks and improved stability – Updated dependencies like SDL 3.2.8 and libusb 1.0.28
Please note: As with all RPCS3 Alpha releases, this is a development version and not a stable build. The developers remind you to always download the latest version available from the official website rpcs3.net/download.
System Requirements: RPCS3 remains a demanding emulator requiring a high-performance PC configuration:- Intel Core i7 CPU (or equivalent) at 4GHz recommended- Recent graphics card (NVIDIA GTX or equivalent)- Sufficient DDR4/5 memory
Outlook:This update confirms the project’s continued momentum, with regular contributions from both the core team and external contributors. RPCS3 has been actively developed since 2011, making it the most advanced PS3 emulator to date.
